Dear friends from media circle: good morning!
The 22nd China Beijing International High-tech Expo (CHITEC), jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Intellectual Property Administration, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and undertaken by CCPIT Beijing, will be held in Beijing during October 24-27, 2019. Now, everything is ready. Entrusted by the Organizing Committee, I will introduce to you the main activities of and the preparations for the 22nd CHITEC.
2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China; it's a critical year to the comprehensive construction of a well-off society, as well as a decisive year for China to become one of the innovative countries in the world. At the new historical starting point and amid more complex and changeable situations both at home and abroad, building China into a technology power is an inevitable choice for the Chinese people to realize the Chinese dream of great national rejuvenation in the new era. Guided by Xi Jinping’s important thoughts about technological innovation in the new era and themed “advancing construction of the scientific and technological innovation center and leading quality development of the industry”, the 22nd CHITEC integrates comprehensive activities, exhibitions, promotions, forums and online display and promotion, with the aim to publicize china's achievements in scientific and technological innovation, showcase the fruits of the construction of Beijing as the national scientific and technological innovation center, and present a gift to New China on its 70th anniversary with real actions.
The event mainly includes comprehensive activities, 4-day exhibitions, 14 promotion activities and 11 forums.
Comprehensive activities include CHITEC Keynote Report & China Science & Technology Innovation Forum to be held at the Capital Hotel during October 24-25, the signing ceremony for scientific and technological cooperation projects to be held at the Capital Hotel on October 25, the activities themed “Exploring Beijing at CHITEC” to be launched by 11 scientific and technological innovation enterprises and public institutions in October. CHITEC will be hosted at China International Exhibition Center (Old Venue) during October 24-27, with an exhibition area as 38,000 m2 and 19 themed exhibition sections that include the exhibition section for science and technology-based winter Olympics, the exhibition section for the achievements of integrated cultural and technological development in Beijing, the exhibition section for the achievements of aerospace scientific and technological development, the exhibition section for the innovative achievements of large scientific technological enterprises, the exhibition section for the achievements of coordinated development among Beijing , Tianjin and Hebei, the exhibition section for the innovative achievements of advanced and sophisticated high-tech industries, the exhibition section for fintech, the exhibition section for smart healthcare products for the old, the exhibition section for special Zhongguancun parks, the exhibition section for the achievements in the construction of open enterprise associations of science and technology, the exhibition section for the achievements of the scientific and technological innovation of the "Three Cities and One Area" in Beijing, the exhibition section for the innovative achievements of scientific and technological industrial parks, the exhibition section for the achievements of scientific and technological innovation at the provincial level, the exhibition section for auto technology, the exhibition section for the achievements of scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship among youth in Beijing, the science fiction themed exhibition section, the exhibition section for smart education and robots, the exhibition section for electronic information and artificial intelligence, and the 3rd China Beijing International Language & Cultural Expo. Meanwhile, 14 promotion activities will be held at CHITEC, including China Information-Based Integrated Development and Innovation Conference, China-Portugal economic and trade talks, cross-border financing service promotion meeting targeted at small and medium-sized export enterprises, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei activities related to international commercial laws in 2019, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Symposium on Empowering Retail with Science and Technology in the New Consumption Era, scientific and technological achievements promotion and business cooperation project promotion meeting, new energy and energy conservation policy training and technological symposium, scientific and technological project investment and financing cooperation talks, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Digital Economy and Creative Development Symposium, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei industrial corporation platform promotion meeting, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Industrial Project Promotion Meeting 2019, the 4th Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Tech Agriculture Honest Brand Promotion Meeting, the Promotion of the Achievements of Integrated Innovation and Economic Development in China 2019, and key project promotions and talks organized by provincial delegations. During CHITEC, 11 forums will be held, including Beijing International Technological Service Forum 2019, China Finance Forum & China Fintech Service Forum, China Forum for the International Development of Smart Education, China Forum for Ecological Civilization Construction, the 11th Smart City Forum, China Energy and Environment Summit for Young and Middle-Aged Scholars, the 13th Scientific and Technological Innovation and Urban Management Forum, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei International Animation & Game Industry Development Forum, the 3rd Environment-Animal-Human Health Academic Popular Science Report Meeting, PKUHSC Autism International Forum, and the 11th Food Science and Technology Forum Beijing.
The CHITEC will highlight five aspects：
I. Focusing on advanced and sophisticated high-tech industries, and highlighting new advantages for future competition
Oriented by the frontier science and technologies in the world, the CHITEC will showcase the achievements of original innovation and independent innovation and lead comprehensive innovation.
It will highlight key and core technologies. The main hall will gather a number of internationally competitive high-tech manufacturing enterprises including CASC, AVIC, COMAC, CETC, NORINCO, CNNC, CSIC, SDIC, Tsinghua Holdings and China Nonferrous Metals, and see aerospace equipment like space stations, Shenzhou Spaceship, BDS, CLEP and large transporters, marine technological achievements like Jiaolong manned submersible, Shenhai Yongshi manned submersible, the 6,000-ton marine police ship, 982 marine oil drilling platform, deep-water operation ships, the smart fish farm in Norway and the world’s first intelligent super-large liner, as well as civil-military integration technological products applied in urban construction, transportation agriculture and assistance.
It will highlight the new height of artificial intelligence. Unigroup will participate in the exhibition with over 70 key chips such as mobile communication chips, IoT chips, flash memory chips, security chips and wireless connection chips that were developed to accelerate the rise of “Chinese chips”. CETC will display major achievements in AI, core chip components, 5G Base station PA and space-ground integrated information network. The exhibition section for electronic Information and artificial intelligence will see technologies and products including facial identification, iris Identification, image/voice identification, robots and intelligent wearable devices. China Mobile and China Telecom will jointly display smart communities, smart healthcare, future smart city management platforms, unmanned cleaning vehicles, security robots, garbage classification, AI finger-guessing and panoramic VR. Tsinghua Tongfang will bring smart information construction systems related to transportation, political affairs, agriculture and urban management.
It will push intelligent manufacturing to a high level. Large technological enterprises including CNMC, Jingye Group and HBIS Group will present innovative achievements across the industrial chain that lead the development of new energy and new materials. Jilin Province will display over 50 projects, including JL-1 satellites and remote sensing information service, Fuxing bullet trains and the next generation low to medium-speed maglev trains. Guangxi province will show independently developed core technologies like the FAST project, as well as the first low tower cable-stayed bridge, the first anchor-type suspension bridge and the first whole-beam squeezing boom bridge in China.
II. Demonstrating the new achievements in the construction of Beijing as the national scientific and technological innovation center based on the positioning of the capital city.
The CHITEC will tap the competitive advantages of Beijing in gathering tech talents, research institutes, tech enterprises and financial capital, so as to promote the construction of Beijing as the national scientific and technological innovation center.
It will present the overall development of science and technologies in Beijing. With ten advanced and sophisticated high-tech industries as the main line, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology and Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Committee will focus on AI application ecology, 5G application scenarios, the industrial chain of new energy intelligent and connected cars, medical robot industrial innovation, energy conservation, environmental protection and comprehensive utilization of resources, with the aim to demonstrate the new achievements made in advanced and sophisticated high-tech industries. Zhongguancun Demonstration Zone will make special parks the subjects of exhibition for the first time, and over 10 special parks will exhibit their industrial characteristics, service systems, clustering of innovation resources and future development plans.
It will display the innovation achievements of the “Three Cities and One Area”. The exhibition section for the “Three Cities and One Area” will be elaborated to publicize the functional positioning, development plans and policy measures of Zhongguancun Science City，Huairou Science City，Future Science City and Beijing Economic- Technological Development Area, and showcase the important achievements made in the “Three Cities and One Area” in the deployment of basic, frontier, key and core technologies, construction of large-scale scientific facilities and R&D platforms at the State level, introduction of diverse subjects of innovation, and creation of open and innovation-oriented industrial clusters and the main venues for advanced and sophisticated high-tech industries.
It will stimulate the vitality of innovation and entrepreneurship. Beijing Association for Science and Technology will organize an exhibition of the achievements in the construction of open enterprise associations of science and technology, which will draw nearly 80 academician and expert work stations, enterprise innovation demonstration stations and science & technology club innovation demonstration stations. The exhibition section for the achievements of scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship among youth in Beijing will highlight the outstanding achievements of youth in scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship, so as to build a platform for youth to learn about entrepreneurship policies, raise funds, receive trainings, conduct exchanges and achieve development. With “5G Empowering and Innovative Chaoyang” as the theme, Chaoyang District will exhibit the development plan for “Three International Projects and One Future Venue”, as well as the construction, technological application and future scenarios of 5G infrastructures.
III. Promoting the integration of science and technology with other industries and leading high-quality industrial development.
The CHITEC meets the development trends of digitalization, networking and intelligence, and promotes the growth of new technologies, new forms of economy and new modes.
Science and technologies are merged with culture and sports. The Ministry of Science and Technology sets up the exhibition for science and technology-based winter Olympics for the first time to promote the integration of science and technology with winter Olympics and showcase a number of high technologies that reflect the strength of the country. The exhibition for the achievements of integrated cultural and technological development in Beijing will present culturally creative designs and related technological products, the merging between traditional media and new media, the integration of culture with science and technology and other emerging forms of industries. Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Digital Economy and Creative Development Symposium and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei International Animation & Game Industry Development Forum will discuss the trends of the integration between culture and technological industries. The 3rd China Beijing International Language & Cultural Expo will pool the frontier philosophies and high-end technologies and products in the language industry both at home and abroad, in a bid to build a platform for the exchanges and cooperation between China’s language industry and its foreign counterpart. The Science Fiction Themed Exhibition is jointly launched by film workers and popular science workers with an array of works that combine science with art, including the exhibition of the film The Wandering Earth and the Chinese Zodiac-themed human-shaped mech.
Science and technologies are merged with finance. The Bank of China will demonstration the innovation achievements in smart finance, scenario ecology, products and services as enabled by the comprehensive application of 5G, Cloud computing, big data, AI And other frontier technologies. China Minsheng Bank will display its self-developed distributed core finance cloud platform, big data platform and AI service system that create the preemptive advantages in tech finance. China Finance Forum & China Fintech Service Forum will invite senior executives from financial institutions both at home and abroad to discuss the innovation and application of fintech.
Science and technologies are merged with education. The Exhibition for Smart Education and Robots will present educational information technologies and equipment, smart education systems and overall solutions for the construction of safe campuses. China Forum for the International Development of Smart Education will invite senior executives from the American Certification Institute and the educational institutions in Burma and Cambodia, presidents or professors from renowned universities both at home and abroad, experts and scholars from authoritative organizations as well as entrepreneurs to discuss new modes of education.
IV. Extending the chain of reginal corporation and advancing the transfer of scientific and technological fruits.
Based on both domestic and foreign markets, the CHITEC aims to build a platform for regional collaborative innovation, and to advance the transfer of major scientific and technological innovation fruits and the international transfer of technologies.
It works to build a platform for the demonstration of collaborative innovation among Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform and CCPIT Beijing, joining hands with several competent authorities in Tianjin and Hebei, will set up an exhibition for the achievements of coordinated development among Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and launch a series of activities, including Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei industrial corporation platform promotion meeting, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Tech Agriculture Honest Brand Promotion Meeting, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei activities related to international commercial laws, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Symposium on Empowering Retail with Science and Technology in the New Consumption Era, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Digital Economy and Creative Development Symposium and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei industrial project promotion meeting, to demonstrate the significant achievements obtained in the past five years since the implementation of the strategy about the coordinated development among Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and promote the deeper cooperation among the three.
It works to serve all the provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the state council. It will launch key project promotions and talks to build a platform for the corporation and exchanges among different regions. It will collect tech-based business promotion projects from different provinces and provide the 12 participating provinces with services that include reception, exhibition and promotion. It will use the official website of CHITEC, eccpitbj.org and the official mobile client APP of CHITEC to promote online and offline project corporation both inside and outside the expo and enhance the sense of gaining among participating enterprises.
It strives to build a platform that connects governments, enterprises, universities, research institutes and users. It pools the forces of ministries and cities, central and local governments and the whole society to establish a platform for exchanges and cooperation. Ministries and commissions, including the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Natural Resources and State Language Commission, will join relevant activities; large State-owned enterprises, such as CASC, CETC, NORINC, CNNC, CSIC, SDIC, CISRI and Tsinghua Holdings, famous private enterprises like Baidu, JD, ANT FIN, MI, Huawei and MEGVII, as well as many research institutes and universities, national industrial societies and associations and banking financial institutions will have deep involvement in the event to create a platform connecting every part of the industrial chain. Moreover, themed reports and 11 forums will discuss the future path to development from different perspectives and provide intellectual support for high-quality industrial development.
It promotes international technological services. A signing ceremony will be held for important scientific and technological projects to advance substantial cooperation. Beijing International Technological Service Forum will be held at CHITEC for the first time, at which representatives of 17 overseas international technological transfer institutions, including ASTP-Proton, Japan Science and Technology Agency, KCA and Russian Innovation Technology Manager Association, will be invited to discuss the hot issues about the international transfer of technologies and release international technological transfer projects. At China-Portugal economic and trade talks, 18 foreign-funded enterprises from countries like Portugal, Spain, Hungry, Italy and Brazil will be organized for face-to-face talks with over 30 Chinese enterprises concerning the education about the recycling of water resources and the import and export of food and beverages. Activities like cross-border financing service promotion meeting targeted at small and medium-sized export enterprises, scientific and technological project investment and financing cooperation talks, and scientific and technological popularization and cooperation project promotion meeting will also be launched to centralize business promotion of projects and improve enterprise financing efficiency through policy interpretation, case sharing and product introduction.
V. Strengthening scientific and technological services and accelerating the application of scientific and technological fruits among peopl
The CHITEC upholds the innovation orientation, focuses on comprehensive scientific and technological services and highlights the tremendous progress of science and technologies in various fields like manufacturing, transportation, education and poverty alleviation that benefits the people’s livelihood.
It helps science and technologies serve the people. Beijing Capital Group increases the tech contents of the environmental protection industry with green technologies, and will show the latest achievements in smart environmental protection at the exhibition. BAIC will display the latest achievements in new energy vehicles and several types of off-road vehicles. In particular, BJ80 fills the gap in China’s high-performance off-road vehicle market. The exhibition for green and innovative tech products will showcase advanced tech products that meet the development direction of Beijing’s industrial structure, including those related to building energy efficiency, heat supply energy efficiency, comprehensive utilization of resources, new energy and clean air. The exhibition for smart healthcare products for the old will present forward-looking old-age care technologies and services at home and abroad as well as one-stop old-age care solutions. The activities themed “Exploring Beijing at CHITEC” will be kicked off in China National Film Museum, during which 11 tech innovation enterprises and public institutions will be opened to the public to make citizens feel the charm of tech innovation.
It promotes the development of the health industry. The exhibition for smart healthcare products will demonstrate new modules related to medical big data and the combination between Internet and medical service, as well as new technologies and applications in the medical field, including medical big data, mobile healthcare, intelligent old-age care, medical e-commerce, medical electronic products and intelligent hardware. With tech innovation as the theme, the 11th Food Science and Technology Forum Beijing will echo the two hot topics at present, i.e. food safety and health, and explore how to implement scientific innovation and technological transfer in the food industry.
It advances the deeper integration between scientific innovation and poverty alleviation. The 3rd China Beijing International Language & Cultural Expo will gather frontier philosophies and high-end technologies and products about language culture both at home and abroad through exhibitions, creative activities, forums and product promotions, to build a platform for the exchanges of language and culture, enterprise publicity, product promotion and project cooperation. In particular, iFLYTEK will demonstrate “Yuyan Fupin” APP, which can use speech synthesis, voice identification, oral test and some other internationally leading AI technologies to boost language learning, serve national development strategy and help people of all ethnic groups quickly improve the application of the country’s common language.
Almost everything is ready for the 22nd CHITEC by far. Over 20 delegations from two international organizations, i.e. UNCSTD and New Development Bank, and 19 countries and regions including the US, UK, Australia, Germany, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Russia and Italy, and delegations from more than 20 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the state council and cities especially designated in the State plan, including Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Tibet, will join the expo. Participants will include over 1,200 enterprises.
The CHITEC has been successfully held for 21 sessions. With a huge size, rich contents, extensive international and domestic participation and fruitful results, it has exerted far-reaching influence both at home and abroad, become an important platform for China to carry out international exchanges and cooperation on technology and trade, and played a unique role in advancing the development of high technologies, leading the transformation of China from a big country of science and technology to a great power of science and technology, and improving the science quality of the people.
